There are promising early signs from the trial. Ostrea angasi went out in oyster baskets across 6 sites on May 31st, after being marked, measured, weighed and photographed (to calculate shell area). In less than two weeks there was discernible shell growth. On 16th June, With the support of Marine Life Society SA members, underwater and ground photos were taken at the Cruising Yacht Club site.
Shell growth is expected to slow over winter, and project managers are delighted with oyster progress so far. Further measurements will be taken in July.
